Protecting Your Account From Hackers
Hello all ^_^ Playing ToP for as long as I have, I have picked up some ways to make sure your account will be impossible to hack. We all know that there are some wonder-programmes that enables some cheaters to gain your Account Information: i.e., Email, Password, etc. However, there are ways to widthstand these hacks and I hope you will never be hacked again after reading this!
Deleting Your Account Info Email
First, it is very important to delete the email the ToP sends you when first creating your account. This Email is as follows;
From: IGG Service
Subject: Thank you for your register.(Igg.com)
This Email contains a hackers paradise - from your account name, to your real name, to your password. You may be thinking, What?! Delete that? What if I forget my password? Well, I have simply printed off that Email and I have a few copies here and there including beside the computer, heh. Its also handy to simply memorise the info in case some of the people in your house would steal your account information.. :O In conclusion, delete the Email! That way, your account is now virtually undetectable from being linked to that Email except to ToP, of course. And Im not betting that someone will hack into ToP any time soon for some account.
Changing Your Password
Second. Change your password regularly. I change mine about once a week, but if something fishy is going on in my account it could be every day. Dont worry! Passwords are easy to remember and heres a tip for creating easy-to-remember Passwords.
Say your password was Dog123. (This is NOT my password or anyone elses that I know of, its only an example -_-;) Simply change your password to, say Horse123 or Dog867. You don't have to completely change your password say, from MushroomLove to 394289 because that would make memorising a new password every week impossible. o_O Or, just write down your weekly passwords - simple as that (:
And remember, always make your password a combination of letters and numbers. The dream password would be something like 6nW207mL4... but that would be quite hard to remember. (Thanks, ShadowReflux!)

Third: do NOT go to any of the websites that are adverstised around Argent and on the World channel. Think of it this way.. if they have made bots that will auto-say thing in local and in world chat, as well as have enough gold for all of those World Chat saying, the programmers most likely are able to hack accounts, too. Or, if you aren't careful enough, you might give them your account name and password and, BAM, no more account. Overall, just don't pay those annoying kids any attention!
Account Name and Password Safety
Also, do not tell your Email, Account name OR password to ANYONE in-game. Don't tell anyone your Email, Characters names OR password on the fourm. If a hacker that sees your awesome equips in-game but doesn't know your Account name, he has no chance of hacking you! Similarly, if you don't show your Character's names on the fourm, no one can link your Account Name to any rich in-game characters. And giving out your password is just... stupid.
Locking Your Inventory
Lastly - and here's the big one. There is a way to lock your inventory - including buying items, selling items and trading items - for the low, low cost of only 200g Per Use!! Hehe. Simply take a visit to the Grocer in Icicle, Argent or Shaitan and purchase a "Mystic Lock" from them. (Thanks, Samsari!) When you have this lock, which costs 200g per, You can click on the tiny gold Lock at the bottom right corner of your Inventory Panel. Doing this makes one Mystic LOck dissapear, but it also ** Locks Your WHOLE Inventory!! ** You (and hackers) will no longer be able to, as I said, trade, sell, buy, take off/put on equip or do anything else in your Inventory! The way to open or redo this nifty lock is to simply click on the er.. "locked lock" then enter in your six-diget Security Code! And, if I'm not mistaken, your Security Code is virtually impossible to acess. Only ToP knows it, and it isnt saved anywhere for your Private Viewing. The only way to see your Security Code if, say, you forgot it, is to Request for it to be sent to you. I belive getting it sent to you requires other personal information - which the hacker won't be able to get at if you deleted your Email containing it all!
I sincerely hope these tips have helped you all. I have heard many, many stories of people being hacked out of things when they were offline, which is very wrong! In using these tips, you are almost intierly prtecting your account from all hackers. They wont be able to take out your items, nor even acces your account info. However, there might be some super hackers out there, but the best we can do is take all the precautions that we can.
