My Experience - Killing the Anubis - The Life Quest Problem

It is a problem faced by many - how to kill the Anubis.

A related problem is, how to actually get to Black Dragon Lair.

This part of the quest is relatively easier for crusaders due to the fact that they can use stealth to avoid monsters and get to the Black Dragon lair, and eventually reach the Anubis.

Note: I was level 57 when I did this, and the Anubis was able to 1 hit k.o. me one time, after which I went back and killed him on my second try.

Getting to the Anubis

1. Getting to Summer Island
To get to Summer Island, you can sail from Icicle harbor to Isle of Fortune (directly south east from the harbor), and then go south east from Fortune to get to Spring/Autumn Island. Go south from here and you will be able to spot Summer Island. There are more than one docks on that Island, but I always use the southern dock.

Cast stealth immediately after docking to avoid a painful death and a harrowing experience in trying to get your ship back.

Note: If indeed you lose your ship, buy a flying fish or windseeker (no guppies available) from Icicle city and go to Summer, sail your ship back to Icicle / Isle of Fortune, and then sell the transporter to an npc.

2. Getting to the Black Dragon Lair
Once you are safely on Summer, head towards the coords (3430,3301) [Deep Blue], carefully find safe spots to re-stealth along the way. Once you are at the portal, don't go in, but wait for stealth to run out and then re-stealth once before entering (to ensure that it doesn't run out near a cyborg) - there is a lizardman monster near the entrance outside where you will re-stealth, but don't worry you will be invisible again before he reaches you.

Once in the lair, go East and then North. You will spot the Anubis before long.

Killing the Anubis
This is actually the easy part. There is a pile of crates near the Anubis, you can lure him here and then spam illusion slash if you have a pet or an SP recovery necklace. If you have neither, you can take small rests.

The Anubis moves often, be careful he isn't too close to you because one hit can kill you - besides, he can stun.

To make it easier, when the illusion slash target cursor appears, hold shift and click on the Anubis. This will initiate auto-attack, but don't go AFK because it is likely than after around 10 mins, the Anubis will find a way to come around the crates to hit you. When this happens, just move to the other side of the crate pile and continue.

It has a large amount of health and will take a long time to kill, but keep at it and it will eventually die.
